Recording global sales for Nissan THE Nissan-Renault Alliance to ignore the economic gloom and several natural disasters around the world to increase sales by 10% in 2011, announced today. The automaker, which has a large plant in Washington, sold more than eight million vehicles for the first time, emerging markets and the U.S. showed the greatest growth. This is the third year in a row that increase sales and alliances teams now offer a 10.7% share of the global market, up from 10.3% a year earlier. Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO Carlos Ghosn said: "This alliance leverages the U.S. economic revival and gained significant market share in the region that will drive growth in the 21st century. "Double digit sales growth was solid progress - especially during a year in which we faced the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the yen abnormal strength, and the financial turmoil in Europe."
